Q:

What are the major changes to the registration of SBLA with effect from 23 April 2012?

  

A:

The Stamp Office introduces an alternative mode of electronic registration (e-Registration). You can register SBLA by the new mode with the issue of an e-Approval Letter upon approval.

Q:

What is the difference between e-Registration of SBLA and paper registration?

  

A:

By paper registration, you submit an application by post or in person and upon approval, there will be a corresponding approval letter issued to you. e-Registration is an alternative mode of registration. You can use the e-Registration service anytime and anywhere and upon approval, there will be an Approval Letter issued via online mode.

Q:

Is e-Registration compulsory? Can I still bring the physical SBLA with registration form to Stamp Office for registration?

  

A:

e-Registration is not compulsory but an alternative mode of registration. You can still use the existing paper registration method.

Do I need to register with the Stamp Office before using this service?

  

A:

No, but you need a means to authenticate online using:-

(a) E-Stamp Account; or
(b) Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) and eTAX Password ; or
(c) Digital certificate issued by the Hongkong Post or the Digi-Sign Certification Services Ltd.

Can I save my currently inputted data under e-Registration platform without submission?

  

A:

No, the system does not have such saving function.

A:

How many softcopy files can be uploaded in each registration?

  

A:

Maximum 1 file for SBLA and maximum 4 files for other attachments.

What are the maximum size of the total softcopy files that can be uploaded in each registration application?

  

A:

5M bytes

Q:

When shall I download the approval letter after submitting a registration application electronically?

  

A:

An email will be sent to you once your registration is approved. You can then use the "Download Approval Letter" service to download the approval letter.
