New arrangement for the public search service of the Business Registration Office of the Inland Revenue Department
The Business Registration Office currently provides the electronic service “Online Application for Business Registration Documents and Duplicate of a valid Business Registration Certificate” via GovHK (www.gov.hk/br). The following documents are available for online application:
- Electronic extract of information on the Business Register
- Certified extract of information on the Business Register
- Certified copy of a valid business/branch registration certificate
- Duplicate of a valid business/branch registration certificate
From 4 September 2023 onwards, this electronic service will fully replace the paper-based applications for the public search service. Applicants can use desktop computers or mobile devices to apply online anytime, anywhere, which is convenient, fast and environmentally friendly.
Besides, for successful applications for electronic extract of information on the business register or duplicate of a valid business/branch registration certificate, the applicants can download the information or documents in PDF format instantly. The electronic record can also be saved and printed according to the applicants’ needs.
