The Stamp Office introduces an alternative mode of electronic registration (e-Registration). You can register SBLA by the new mode with the issue of an e-Approval Letter upon approval.

By paper registration, you submit an application by post or in person and upon approval, there will be a corresponding approval letter issued to you. e-Registration is an alternative mode of registration. You can use the e-Registration service anytime and anywhere and upon approval, there will be an Approval Letter issued via online mode.

Is e-Registration compulsory? Can I still bring the physical SBLA with registration form to Stamp Office for registration?
A:
e-Registration is not compulsory but an alternative mode of registration. You can still use the existing paper registration method.

Do I need to register with the Stamp Office before using this service?
A:
No, but you need a means to authenticate online based on your user type:
- Business User
- "E-Stamp" Account (details); or
- Business Tax Portal (BTP) User Account, the holder of which is authorised to handle stamp duty matters;
- Individual User
- Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) (for eTAX login) (details);
- Digital certificate issued by the Hongkong Post or the Digi-Sign Certification Services Ltd;
- "iAM Smart" Account; or
- MyGovHK Account.
(Note: e-Stamping services are not available to holders of Tax Representative Portal (TRP) User Account.)
